Tanzania is an increasing focus of attention as a market for investors in Consumer Industries Products and Services (CIPS), a reflection of the following:
  • Strong real recent domestic growth (6.8% in 2017 and 7.0% in 2018).The growth was driven by increased investment especially in infrastructure, a stable supply of electricity, improvement in transport services and favorable weather conditions.     
  • A large and fast growing population, estimated 57.3 million as of mid 2017.       
  • The value of goods and services exported between July 2018 and April 2019 reached USD 7,210.6 million down from USD 7,291.9 million recorded during the same period in 2017/18 whilst the value of goods and services imported between July 2018 and April 2019 reached USD 9,024.9 million compared to USD 8,464.6 million in 2017/18 equivalent to an increase of 6.6%.  
  • Geographical location driving growth as a transport hub linking to several countries inland.
